The Super Auction 3 set for February 27, 2010

Ann Arbor, MI – Building on the success of the 2009 Super Auctions, the first Super Auction of 2010 will be held on February 27, 2010 at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds, 5055 Ann Arbor-Saline Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Ten auction companies and over 15 auctioneers from Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Missouri will gather together for an exposition of American Auctioneering. The event starts promptly at 10:00 AM EST and there will be three auction rings running for the entire auction. The auction will last approximately five hours with over 1400 lots up for bid.

Collections from across the Midwest and South are again scheduled to cross the block. Selections of antiques, lighting, sport cards, farm toys, stamps, pottery, glass, coins, collectibles, and firearms will be available. Unique Currency featured at the second Super Auction

Among the hundreds of antiques, collectables, pottery and coins crossing the block at The Super Auction a fine selection currency will be featured in the Coin and Currency session by Kraft Auction Service. The second Super Auction will be August 22, 2009 beginning at 9:30 AM at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Examples of fractional currency includes 10, 15, 25 and 50 cent notes. Of interest includes a receipt for the purchase of fractional notes from the U.S. Treasury.

Three Auctioneers headed to the IAC

Three auctioneers from The Super Auction will be competing in the upcoming International Auctioneer Championship (IAC). David Helmer, Jonathan Kraft and Peter Gehres will be joining over 80 auctioneers from across the nation in Overland Park, Kan. at the 60th International Auctioneers Conference and Show to compete for the title of IAC Champion. The male and female winners of this competition are regarded by the auction industry as being one of the best. This is first year for Gehres in the IAC. Both Helmer and Kraft have competed in the contest in previous years.

The IAC competitors are judged on their presentation, chant, voice timbre, body language, and other performance elements of effective auctioneering. Participants are also judged on their answers of interview questions. The finalists will compete at 7 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2009 in front of more than 1,000 of their peers at the Overland Park Convention Center. The two division winners of the IAC will receive a cash prize of $10,000, a trophy, and will represent the National Auctioneers Association as its spokespeople throughout the year.

Rising Star will be part of The Super Auction

Jonathan Kraft of Kraft Auction Service will be the youngest auctioneer participating in The Super Auction. At 22 he may be young but he does not lack talent. In 2008 Jonathan won the Michigan State Bid Calling Championship. Has also been the runner up at the National Junior Contest and the Indiana Bid Calling Championship. Jonathan is the definition of a rising star in the auction industry and was was recently elected as a director of the Indiana Auctioneers Association. Jonathan will not be the only bid calling champion however. The Super Auction will showcase the talent of past champions and finalists from Ohio and Michigan. While the items sold will be great if you love bid calling The Super Auction is the place to be.
